[Tony's trying really hard not to laugh. It works for about three seconds and then he can't help it, and he tries to smother the laughter with his hand.] Oh, Alice. Has anyone explained it to you yet?

Hmm! Oh! Yes Mr. Tony. Gabriel explained that a Lesbian and "gay" mean men and women who love other men and women...

Although... now that I think about it I still don't know what a "transgender" is or a "bisexual!" Is a bisexual anything like a bicycle?

[Well that's half the battle taken care of.

Tony laughs, shaking his head.] Only that the "bi" prefix means "two." Someone that's bisexual likes both men and women. So two wheels, two genders. Isn't English fun.

They like both men and women? [Why not just pick the one you like more? Alice asks this question.]

Yep. Some people are only attracted to men, some are only attracted to women, but if you're bi you're attracted to both. It's less...limiting. [He grins. Yeaaah, Tony probably wasn't the best person to be explaining this stuff to Alice.]

I'm afraid I don't understand what the importance of that is... or why it matters if someone likes both men and women.... or why that needs a parade.

Well, dearheart, some people care way too much about who other people are sleeping with, and don't want them to be treated like human beings. These days parades are a way of showing pride and support.

That's horrible! It isn't anyone else's concern who another person loves!

My thoughts exactly. And the thoughts of most other sane people. Unfortunately, that's not the way the world works.

Well, why are mad people in charge?

I guess because mad people vote for them. It's a really sticky subject in politics, though god knows why.

Then... just vote for people who aren't mad.
