Is the new pope the anti-christ?
hmmmmm.......
This just hit me, but it's long so in order to spare everyone's freind's page, just
Listening to people talk about the new Pope, it is hard to not come acrss one or two people who claim that he is truly going to be the anti-christ. I know its silly, but I found something that I thought was kind of interesting.
I posted this article (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/668048.stm) a while back in which Cardinal Biffi said that the new antichrist would be one who preached such ideas as animal rights, vegetarianism, and peace.
Now skip ahead to present day. We have a new pope who has actually been quoted saying that,
“Certainly, a sort of industrial use of creatures, so that geese are fed in such a way as to produce as large a liver as possible, or hens live so packed together that they become just caricatures of birds, this degrading of living creatures to a commodity seems to me in fact to contradict the relationship of mutuality that comes across in the Bible..." Not only that, but this new pope is one who has survived being forced into serving in the Nazi Youth and the such, so his ideas of iniversal peace are pretty strong.
I dunno. Of course to me its all people caught in a fairy tale, but maybe someone with an overactive imagination will read this, see it as true, and go out on the streets proclaiming the new Pope as the antichrist and the entire Catholic church will revolt and there will be bloodshed and mayhem as the world is destroyed by bloody religious wars.
That or I just wasted at least 5 minutes of your time. In any case, take care.
