Wow...can you believe this year is about to end? God, I can't believe it. Feeling particularly emotional about this. Oh, God, lemme see. At the very beginning of this year I vowed to get three things done:
- Actually GO to Germany to continue my studies
- Stay in a loving relationship with my boyfriend
- Try as many art style and medium as possible
These things are, surprisingly, done. I am now in Germany! Living like one of them Germans ɛ(ˇ ワ ˇ)ɜ Now I'm so used to wursts and bretzels, I got bored of them. And I am STILL gladly in a wonderfully loving relationship with my beloved. We live in two different towns now but we keep strong. Here's a pic to prove it.
And I got to try acrylic, screen printing, clay, natural sketching, and charcoal. Yeah, I guess that qualifies as "as many as possible". I guess now I know why I'm kinda sad to let go of this year: I've accomplished quite a lot this year. Let me put these accomplishments in a list:
- Went to Germany! Europe! Finally!
- Rode on trams for the first time!
- Saw snow and had a bit of a snowball fight
- Learnt to live without parents for the first time
- Learnt to cook, wash clothes, dishes, and iron them
- Shopped for groceries without parents
- Got my first ever piece of pink jewelry and flower bouquet from boyfie
- Managed my finances
- Learnt how to look for new homes
- Learnt how to deal with landladies/-lords
- Saw spring for the first time and it was COLOURFUL! ╰(* ム *)╯
- Went to art galleries for the first time~
- Joined an art class and tired myself out with acrylics
- Went home late on foot on my own (lame, I know, so shoot me!)
- Knew what it felt like to look for jobs
- Met people from different parts of the world and learnt their culture
- Actually worked! Had an actual job and earned actual money
- Hit 1st year anniversary with boyfriend will working!
- Became friends with my boyfie's classmates
- Fasted in Germany
- Got into pre-college that I wanted
- Moved to a new town and learnt to live on my own
- Made friends with people from other countries [again]
- Finally went to Berlin...I do NOT like that city
- Tried food for various parts of the world [I liiiike Couscous ( ̑ ʋ ̑)]
- Experimented with food

- Experimented with wardrobe
- Learnt to knit
- Went to Rome, Italy with friends from other countries
- Tasted Gluhwein for kids
- Made a...slightly failed scarf щ(º̹̹́ Д º̹̹̀ щ)
- Swam in Germany...in Winter...finally~
Oh well, I think that's about all of the accomplishments I managed to do this year. Wow...uhh, that's quite a lot...I think. There's no wonder, now then, how I cannot seem to let go of this year quite easily. I want to do quite a lot more next year. A lot more I can be proud of but next year hasn't even come yet and already it's driving me quite crazy. I want to go home some time next year but...GAAAHHH I don't know!
Before I make a resolution, I'd like to commemorate the greatness of this year by piling up photos and showing them off here for every month of the year I've gone through today. If I had the pics at all, that is. Here you go!
These are pics of our first home. It was winter and we, 18 of us, lived in one house together. This house was located on the outskirts of town and only one train would take us there...if we're lucky. This was the kitchen. In the morning, we could see either mist or snow from there. But it always looked beautiful.
This was the more or less the 18 of us who used to live together. In March everything was getting warmer. This was taken at a park on our last class with our beloved teacher, Tihomir Lozanovski. He was one hell of a teacher and we had a blast with him. This was the beginning of change.
We moved to a new home. Out of 18, only six of us were left. My beloved still lives in this house until now although he'll be leaving it next year. It was one memorable memory ( ´ ム`)
My art class, ladies and gentlemen! The nice lady on the left was my teacher, Mrs. Margot Witte. The lady on the right was the also nice Mrs. Constance...I don't know her last name, sorry. It was a nice class...sorry for the last few classes (> ム <)
A job trip to Hannover with my boyfriend and my friends! Oh, and look! Another proof that we're still a loving couple (>̰ ヲ <̰) And that other one is but a picture that I took of my beloved and my friend. It was really a lot. One month in a city with people I became friends -- close friends -- with. Wow...memorable, indeed!! ⎝(> ワ <)⎠
My last memory in Karlsruhe before I left to live somewhere else. It was a birthday party of some sort of a friend of mine. Yes, that's her on the right. Kinda sad now that I remember it...
October was an eventful month, if you ask me. I went back twice to Karlsruhe and met my boyfriend and friends in another city in the middle of the month. The last photo was of my female classmates on our International Cooking Day. Now that was one fantastic day...I think it was the beginning of our friendship!
November was a loooooong month. It was all school and no play. God, it got kinda hard to handle. Away from my friends and family...and boyfriend. Thank God for my lovely teachers to arrange fun things to do during this hard month. We went to the botanical garden and the chocolate museum. I found it all quite interesting~
Then finally came December and where we all are now. Here's a pic of me and my friends in Rome, Italy, being given flowers only to give it back because we refused to give money. Hey, the dude didn't say he was selling it! That was one adventurous trip!
Today's New Year's Eve and I don't really have much of a plan yet. But I'm going to do something for sure. So....deep breaths, everyone, I'm going to give out my New Year's Resolutions...which are the following:
- Explore MORE of Europe! [Next stop: Paris!]
- Stay, of course, in a loving relationship with my dearly beloved~ ♥
- Go home to Indonesia! Preferrably, during the summer.
- Earn money myself AGAIN! Now make it more artistic, if you will.
- Be less antisocial, be happy, and be true to yourself!
Okay, I think that's all. I mean, I don't want to go overboard so I'll set my bar low. Number 1, 3 and 5 aren't mandatory but number 2 and 4 are totall MUSTS! Otherwise, well, I don't know. What are YOUR New Year's Resolutions? Do you have some? Come share with me and good luck!
