Well, if allergies are a deterrent you may have a point, or you may yet to meet the correct person. I am a die-hard romantic, so this may colour my view. Anyway, I understand how GPA and money are quantifiable, but I don't see how awards are any more quantifiable than lovers. Additionally, without things like pleasure or happiness I am unsure that more GPA points or dollars would actually be considered a gain. For example, I often accrue more plastic bags, but I don't consider this to be a gain, just a nuisance. Good to hear from you anyway, good luck!
