For one week, recommend / share: Day 1: a song Day 2: a picture Day 3: a book/ebook/fanfic Day 4: a site Day 5: a youtube clip Day 6: a quote Day 7: whatever tickles your fancy
I was humming and harring whether or not I'd get someone who's just starting fantasy to read these. He's reading Sword of Truth because of Legend of the Seeker. I let him know that he's welcome to borrow so we'll see if he does ;) I bet he'll grab them when the tv-series starts. You read Steven Erikson? Complicated novels (to an extreme) but similar in 'feel' if that makes sense. The rough 'no fairies or happy dragons here' type.
Oooh, I'll have to keep him in mind. I'm still only on Storm of Swords, and I think I'm going to read some non-fantasy once I'm done with Feast for Crows. But after some non-fantasy, I'll definitely have to look into it :) Especially since it's not happy-go-lucky fantasy. I still can't believe it took years of you and Dia and other RQers talking about this series before I finally looked into it. Oh well, I pick up trends late. Better late than never I guess.
I got my boyfriend to start reading Game of Thrones, I'm sure you can spread the influence haha
