[The camera comes on and a little Pichu is seen trying to find shelter from the drizzle that was coming down. The person with the camera turned out to be a kid, he looked no older then 12, and he had a look of discontent and irritation.

Nope! It's another world! Dunno how we got here or why, but we did. There's a book in your backpack somewhere that explains things about this world. And also, the portable husktop we're speaking on has info. But it's called a pokégear here.
