Why #1? Because the money is good.
Why #2? Because the hours for the money be paid is even better.
Why #3? Because the money and the hours are good and at least it isn't a fitness and/or skin informercial that is played at 2am.

Nothing wrong with a celeb making a bit of money for a product. If Gene Hackman, one of the greatest actors of his generation, can lend his voice to Lowes commercials, then Sigourney Weaver can lend her voice and statuesque frame to DirecTV.

I guess I'm more upset with the studio/production company that owns the rights to the film Aliens itself. I think it cheapens the movie. (Kind of the way I was offended years ago by the beer commercials that had John Wayne inserted into them.)

Sigourney was just an easier target for my geeking.

For the record, you've probably got down how I felt about the Back to the Future ads for DirecTV. Admittedly it was more of a "OMGWTFBBQ?!?!?!?1", but meh...
