You know all those crazy love stories our Grandparents told us about? They wouldn't be real if they never jumped. Yeah...a lot of times we fall right on our asses...but HOLY FUCKING SHIT ONE TIME WE HAVE TO LAND ON OUR FEET,...RIGHT?!

My Papa was going to marry my grama. It was her second marriage and she had two kids by 2 different baby daddies. Papa's Mother hated Grama and thought she was a harlot (which may or may not have been true), and locked Papa in the bathroom on his wedding day. Papa busted down the door and married my Grama. They popped out a shit ton more kids, and have been married 54 years now. They are still very much in love.

What if Papa listened to his mother, (and reason) and decided not to marry such a ruined woman when the odds were against him?

I'm kinda with Abby on this one..... you can say yes, but that doesn't have to mean that you marry him the next day.... i think an engagement is a commitment in itself =) it's beautiful,and it gives you a period of time to play hubby/wifey...
