2007 year in review
1. What did you do in 2007 that you'd never done before?
lived in africa
2. Did you keep your New Year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
i kinda think they're stupid and don't bother with them. but if anything its to live the next year so i wont need to make resolutions for 2009.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
no
4. Did anyone close to you die?
no
5. What countries did you visit?
south africa. mexico, altho that doesnt really count.
6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
more defined/refined beliefs - spiritual, political, social. more respect for myself.
7. What dates from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory and why?

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
3.8 gpa, having the balls to follow through with going abroad
9. What was your biggest failure?
i think i compromised myself, my dignity and my respect a bit too much. i didn't make as much of my abroad time as i wanted, and i can't get that back. i also let myself get stuck with the same shitty waste of time summer job again.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
no. my immune system is awesome.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
nat's souvenir from africa. grey shorts from mr price. gold heels from target. deodorant that didn't make my pits break out in a rash. giant lipsmacker. a white bra. azo (miracle working uti medicine)
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
britney spears.
i think at times i surprised myself with random moments of maturity and grown-upness.
kyle was there for me alot.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
i think they know.
14. Where did most of your money go?
who the fuck knows. shopping, food, going out, the usual fiscal irresponsibilities
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
my surprise visit back to houston. wednesday nights, august-november.

that chicks make music too - feist, regina spektor, patti smith, pj harvey, etc. also, old music like led zeppelin and the grateful dead. elvis costello. goldfish. jens lekman. the national.
28. What did you want and get?
a semester abroad. a sweet digital camera. experience. a widened mind. (i don't know if i necessarily wanted/was seeking the last 2, but they were nice to find nonetheless)
29. What did you want and not get?
more epic nights - i find myself losing my ability to be epic and instead retreating to bed far too early. easy money. to visit more places in africa.

i turned 20. i went w/ some roommates and other people to a 3day music festival in the south african countryside. we wrestled in hay and i twisted my knee real bad. i lost my phone but later my friend amazingly found it. there are a lot of pictures that i dont remember being taken. my roommates got me an apple pie cos they knew i dont like cake. i had a second birthday party later, and we went out for mexican and then had some friends over and taught them how to play flip cup (and schooled them).
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
not having to worry about money so much. among other things...
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007?
just trying to hide my wobbly bits as best i could. i guess trying to be more stylish and coordinate more w/ accessories. it never works tho.

alone time, alcohol, showers, sleep

i pretty much just deepened my dislike of republicans and politics in general. also, corporations.
