As with most political issues, this is best explained with cows. Unfortunately not everyone can have two cows.

A pure socialized health car would be "You take a number and hope you get milk." I dunno. I like most of the plan Obama set forth so far. Controlling through competition is a great idea. We'll have to see if it can work.

Well, that is the understanding that a lot of people have of socialized health care, but if you ask people in any of the countries that already have it (as I have done) they will tell you otherwise. They don't have to wait for days, and it is at least as easy to get healthcare under a socialized system as it is under our private system, and probably easier. An insurance company is legally required to do all it can to prevent your getting care because not handing out money is in the interest of the share holders. At least Obama's plan wouldn't have that situation because there would be no share holders. But otherwise it is exactly like regular health insurance ( ... )

"You take a number and hope you get milk." Unfortunately, that's going to be a consequence of just about any plan that actually succeeds in getting people care who are not currently getting care, because more people are going to be entering the system with the same number of doctors ( ... )

Lol. No offense taken. We both know my views on socialism. :) I do think that in the current climate, control though competition is sadly the best way to go.

I know! We can just kill off 30% of the newborns via lottery. It'd keep me from waiting in line too! And think of the saved money on education and health care savings! (of course, you probably support this on the basis of om-nom-nom babies. )
