Higurashi live action - Wheel of fortune (main theme)
I did know about a Higurashi movie being made, I also recall visiting the official site long time ago when there was no content yet but a picture. The problem is... I totally forgot about it!
So, a while ago I was randomly checking on Shimamiya Eiko's latest single and it apparently came with the PV on a bonus dvd.
Now, Wheel of Fortune is the main theme for the upcoming Higurashi movie and the PV uses a lot of footage from it. But the funny party is that since I completely forgot the existence of an Higurashi movie, I didn't even notice what this was about till over two minutes into the video >_>
Well, I did notice immediately that the little girl looked like Rika but then the presence of the actual Rika from the movie that is WAY TOO OLD confused me ;_; I actually realized it was Higurashi only when I saw Keiichi swinging the bat around, and even then it took me a bit to remember that there was a Higurashi movie in the making /slapself (no need to say that I felt really stupid after >_>)
Anyway! Higurashi could work well as a movie so I kinda want to watch it when it's out. However some of the cast choices look quite weird.
- Keiichi: I don't really like Keiichi to start with (maybe cause of the Kira Yamato factor) but still, the actor looks ok to me I guess.
- Mion: is shorter than Rena!? And has shorter hair than Rena!? Still, she looks Mion enough to me so I don't mind her.
- Rena: is too tall! And really, really fails in the scenes when she tries to look cute in Rena-style imho >_> Don't really like her ._.
- Satoko: I didn't even recognize her in the PV, so I had to check on the official site to see how she looked like >_>;
- Rika: WHY Rika is so old?! Am I the only one that thinks that the little girl in the PV would make a better Rika? ._. Rika needs to be small and short and ni-pa and that actress doesn't look small nor short nor ni-pa to me :(
- Oishi: Oishi is not fat and doesn't have grey hair!? /shocked
- Chie-sensei: unsurprisingly doesn't look like Ciel-senpai anymore, but I honestly don't care much about her >_>
Anyway, really glad they kept Shimamiya to sing for the live action too - I think she has a great voice and is definitely my favorite of the I've Sounds singers (plus no one else looks this classy while cradling fake human bones!). And yes, I don't really like KOTOKO (I said it! XD)
Actually I would've a hard time picking between Shimamiya and Lia:
but Lia is not exactly in I've Sounds anymore, is she? (well she's with a sister label or something but still >_>)
