Laptop death -_-

I've had such bad luck with this laptop ._. After months of HDD problems, then after replacing it months of overheating problems, yesterday it just died or something (well it doesn't look completely dead, buuut screen is black and even connecting it to a different monitor won't do anything) I brought it to some place that does repairs but I'm ( Read more... )

Is out of warranty now D: I actually tried to get an extension back when i bought it but apparently in Italy they don't like those >__>
Even though I'm in USA atm so I don't really know if my italian warranty would've worked here anyway x_x;

oh you're in the US now :O what kind of external HDD storage is it? One of those you can open up and take out the HDD? If so maybe buy one here for like $30 and put the HDD in so you don't need to use the 110>220 converter while over here @.@

I still need the converter anyway for other things like my phone, my DS and such XD So might as well buy another since I do need it for a bunch of things, hehe. I'm just shocked that it broke so suddenly cause I've had it for over an year and had never given me any problems >_> So it does take a lot of bad luck to break on same day of my laptpop x_x;;

I'm hoping that at least the hard disk is ok (also cause it is brand new lol >_<) The guy at the computer shop seemed to think that it was probably a video card problem but who knows D: I have to wait and see I guess, hope they call me back soon with news >_<
This is the one thing I don't like about laptops, when a pc has problems it's easier to figure out by myself what's wrong, but with laptops I'm completely clueless XD

How old is the laptop? Maybe just replace it? :x

Something close to a year and a half, it is still kinda new so I wasn't really thinking about getting a new one any soon >_<
But yeah, unless it's something really easy to fix I'm leaning towards just getting a new one because how do I know that this one isn't going to break again anytime soon ^^;

Orz D: I had problems with a power supply before too and the day that it died it actually brought the motherboard with it XD So I basically had to replace everything cause the desktop was a bit old and it wasn't worth looking for a motherboard compatible with the other pieces. I also lost my primary HD just few months before on this same laptop so if I lose another I think I'm gonna scream XD

Meh, computers!
