Oh Lee, I am so so sorry to hear this. I want to come over there and give you a giant hug. Your mom was a wonderful, special lady. Not many people would invite two internet strangers into their home on Christmas and embrace them the way she did Mike and I. I was shocked she had prepared such generous gifts for us, perfect strangers. She was overflowing with laughter and love. I can't imagine the grief you must be going through. If you ever need to talk, just call. *big hugs*
*hugs* Thanks. That was a pretty wild Christmas. I wish you could have met her before she was ill as she had so much more energy. I can barely write about it here, let alone talk.
Yes, it was wild. I'll never forget that snow storm!
I understand about not wanting to talk on the phone about it. I don't know what else I can offer, but if you can think of anything please let me know. We love you and want to wrap you in that love and comfort, but it is not easy living so far apart. I'm just so sad for you and your family. She was a great lady.
As corny as it sounds, just knowing you are out there and being supportive helps. Its the sort of situation where one can't really do anything, but just be a friend. *hugs*
I didnt realize this was so recent. I am really sorry. I also didnt know your mom was a painter. Do you have anything she painted? If so, you should take a picture and post in up here for me to see. I always wanted to be able to draw and paint. I think its a nice way to leave something behind (I think writing does the same thing for authors).
I'll try and get some piucs...I don't have too much of her art and the major piece is behind glass, but I'll see what I can do. She was a fantastic artist and a good teacher too. I remember her giving me my perspective lessons, which of course is boring but very necessary in laying out a decent composition.
There is absolutely nothing I can say that will help at all. My father took five years dying, after they gave him a year, and even with all that time, it was still such a shock. I can't imagine how it must be to *not* have that time to brace oneself as best you can. I'm so sorry, (((Lee))).
*hugs* Thanks Jojo. We did have time to somewhat prepare, as her illness has progressed over the years. But just last month she was perfectly fine. I don't think one does ever have enough time to prepare.
