Romeo and Juliet

Fandom DNWs
  • V-formations for the Montacrew OT3 centered on Benvolio (everyone-with-everyone or v-formation centered on Romeo or Mercutio are all fine)
  • Benvolio/Mercutio outside of the Montacrew OT3 context
  • Age difference within the Montacrew that's greater than 2 years between oldest and youngest.
I don't particularly care how you deal with Romeo/Juliet. They can break up or never meet or whatever really - whatever works best for the particular story. Feel free to handwave as needed.

As you can probably tell, I love the Montacrew, in all various combinatinos! With the OT3 especially it's like...Romercutio and Romvolio - my two fave ships in this fandom - and the Montacrew friendship all wrapped up into one ship! What could be better! I'm happy with all genres/tones for any requested combination of these boys - fluff, angst, hurt/comfort. romance. I really just feel like this threesome should get more love from the fandom. I'm afraid my prompts are subpar here, but really, I would enjoy pretty much anything with these three as long as there's genuine love and affection involved.

For the OT3, how did they get together? Did their friendship pretty naturally transition into a relationship or was there more negotiation/uncertainty? Did one pair get together first (Romvolio? Romercutio?) and then bring in the third member? (Was there any angst/insecurity from said third party initially?) The getting together can happen pre-canon or in a canon-divergence AU (like, after the duel).

Regardless of whether the focus is romance or gen, I'd love any kind of cuteness and banter and fluff really. Teenage shenanigans with kissing :) On the flip side - anything exploring these three being really Soft and affectionate but also kinda dysfunctional because they all have their own baggage which they can’t always (or ever) communicate/talk about property (because teenagers, lbr). Mercutio being a nuisance of every and any kind and the boys having to deal with that/him. (Including any kind of post-duel caretaking and hurt/comfort.

Any kind of hurt/comfort, frankly, with any of the three as the hurt party (though I probably prefer Romeo or Mercutio). Anything from scrapes with Capulets to abusive/overwhelming (physically or emotionally) home/family situations. (Though, I see the Montague parents as more emotionally demanding/neglectful/manipulative, etc, than physically abusive.) Maybe one of them is kidnapped and the others have to find a way to get him back or they're all kidnapped together by the Capulets (for some reason, idk, surprise me, lol) and have to find a way to escape. (Some violence in this situation is fine - people getting beaten up, etc, just not like...really extreme/gruesome torture.)

Post-canon angst, where Mercutio and Romeo come as ghosts one night shortly after the play's events to say a final goodbye to Ben. Or maybe Ben can't see them (at first?) but strange stuff keeps happening to/around him or he gets help somehow in otherwise hopeless situations but can't figure out how/from who, and tries to find out. (This is the sad ghosts/haunting prompt.)

For Romeo/Mercutio specifically, their friendship and banter in canon - how well they know each other, how they’re completely on each other’s wavelength with jokes and puns and stuff, even if they have their differences elsewhere - is really special to me! I just love the characterization of Mercutio as super protective, especially of Romeo. I love themes of loyalty and self-sacrifice - whether that’s the canon duel events or a totally different scenario. The “different scenario” could be something from their childhood/early teens, something more low stakes but their first taste of the feud… Early-teens pranks and puppy love! Early teens pranks and angst over having a crush on your best friend and thinking it's not returned (even when it totally is). Is the Capulet ball the first party they've ever snuck into or have there been others? Did they ever end up snogging secretly just outside the party?

But this ship is also ripe for all kinds of angst and h/c, but especially obvious, I think, is the Mercutio!lives AU. Just like…give me Mercutio who survives the duel but is still badly hurt and Romeo who doesn’t kill Tybalt and, ah, postpones his Juliet romance to take care of his best friend. Mercutio, who is deeply in love with Romeo and maybe a little embarrassed of needing care-taking, especially by the person he’s in love with, but doesn’t really have a choice. Mercutio who believes his love is unrequited. Mercutio who, perhaps, asks for Romeo/confesses his feelings while delirious. And Romeo - Romeo who adores Mercutio but maybe doesn’t realize he’s in love with him until he almost loses him. Romeo, who makes Mercutio his priority, even if it kind of tears him in two at first. I’m totally open to any other AU elements that make a resolution easier (e.g. the duel happening before R/J manage to get married.) Or, maybe Romeo does kill Tybalt anyway, and Mercutio goes into exile with him (by choice, or for his own part in the duel). How do they manage then?

For Romeo/Benvolio specifically, I'd love cute childhood fluff that slowly bleeds into adolescent banter and romantic tension. (Bonus if Mercutio totally knows whats up and is constantly rolling his eyes at their asses in the background.) Slightly darker theme: the boys dealing with the pressure of what is expected of them as Montague heirs (Romeo especially) even though a lot of it (like the violence) is totally contrary to their natures, and bonding/finding support in each other over that.

I'd love an AU wherein, like in many adaptations, Benvolio is the one to bring Romeo news of Juliet’s death. But, unlike most such adaptations, he doesn’t run off/let Romeo shake him off afterwards and instead stays with him, doesn’t let him do anything stupid, and helps him get through the worst of his grief. (And um....stays in Mantua with him indefinitely ;) ) On the other hand, something where Ben is the one who gets hurt (in a fight with Capulets?) or sick and Romeo takes care of him and there's pining and feverish/delirious love confessions :D Or just like pining and drunk/accidental/otherwise unplanned and sudden confessions of feelings in general!

I would also very much enjoy a missing scene of Romeo and Benvolio tearfully saying goodbye before Romeo leaves Verona or something featuring Benvolio dealing with Romeo's death.

One of the things I've always loved in the HP universe was the era of the First War. I've got a lot of headcanons about it, but I enjoy reading other's takes on aspects of it as well. It was clearly such a tense time, and the war was ramping up as Severus, Regulus and their classmates were still in school. We don't know too much about the first war era, and about Severus' cohort of young(er) Death Eaters, but we do know some things. Obviously we know a lot about Snape, and we know some about Regulus (he did not see/feel the need to rebel against his family the way Sirius did and they apparently had a...complicated relationsihp at the least, but he eventually defected). We know Barty was and stayed extremely loyal despite his father being very anti-Voldemort and we know Evan was skilled enough to wound Moody in combat/a duel and he died laughing (though I read it as like bitter desparation/dark humor rather than insanity). But we don't really know how exactly the Death Eaters were organized, to what extent they were organized (similar to the Order? Karkaroff says most of them didn't know every other person who was or wasn't a Death Eater, but I imagine people suspected, and how much do we trust Karkaroff anyway?).

How did they train? What were their missions? I'm really interested in the war worldbuilding part of things. But I'm also interested in the more social - Pureblood Society, especially - part of worldbuilding. These boys are all purebloods, save Severus. (Note, btw, that I headcanon Evan as being the same age as and friends with Severus, and, IIRC, Avery and Mulciber are Sev's school friends canonically.) Also, don't feel limited to just the characters in each group, especially for gen - include anyone else you want from that cohort: e.g. Wilkes, etc, all/any combination of the boys in any/all groups. Hell, make up some OCs if you'd like and/or include some of the older Death Eaters - Dolohov, Rookwood, Lucius - as mentors or family friends or commanding officers, or just people they know and have to deal with.

I really love themes and stories of friendship and loyalty, as well as explorations of how those are tested by war. Also explorations of how people come to extrimism. Who is there because they really believe this shit? Who is there for more practical reasons? Who is there because that's what their friends and family are all doing and/or out of a sense of duty to someone/something? Are there ideological debates they have? How does someone like Regulus, who stops believeing in the Cause or perhaps just stops believing in Tom Riddle's/Voldemort's leadership. feel and deal with having to betray his friends? (Or a similar question, but for Snape. Let's assume young Severus did have some genuine friendships, even if they didn't mean as much as his love for Lily or save him from being bullied.) I want to see some boys being friends and growing up togther and doing dumb teenage things together and fighting a war together and ending up torn apart by the world and/or their own choices. Or, you know, some subset of those things.

For Severus/Evan specifically, I love the angst potential here. I wouldn’t mind fluff either, though, if you want. I enjoy the potential for opposites attract with these two, especially as I headcanon Evan as a sort of relatively carefree outgoing social butterfly. I would love to see a progression of their relationship. I would seriously like this to be mutual. You don’t have to ignore canon/Lily, I’m all for Severus/Lily, but once she’s out of the picture, I would love to see Sev having a fulfilling relationship with Evan. Oh, yes, hurt/comfort is your friend :D That being said, how does Sev’s betrayal fit into this? How does that affect him emotionally - knowing you’re betraying your friends and your lover? Does Evan have suspicions? And if he does but can’t bring himself to tell/confront Sev - oh the glorious angst and guilt! I wouldn’t mind seeing Sev’s reaction to Evan’s death.

Maybe they get captured and need to find a way to escape before they get handed over to the Ministry. Getting-together fics, especially set against the background of war, are great! This goes equally well for Regulus/Barty too! Actually, a lot of the same themes that are so juicy for Severus/Evan as a romantic ship - childhood friendship-turned-romance, difference in peronalities, themes of loyalty and betrayal, one dealing with the other's death - are just as attractive and interesting to me in Regulus/Barty.

Remus Lupin/Evan Rosier
Requested Tags: Allies of Convenience, Ambiguous/Open Ending, Angst, Betrayal, Canon Compliant, Captivity, Denial of Feelings, duels, Enemies to Lovers, Enemy Lovers, Enemy to Caretaker, Ethical Dilemma, Flirting Under Fire, Forced Proximity, Not Actually Unrequited Love, Pining, Prisoner of War, Unresolved Sexual Tension, Getting Together, Complicated Relationships

I think what I like the most about this pairing is the possibilities and impossibilities that it presents. Different houses, backgrounds, ideologies etc and to see how that can work together would be wonderful. I suppose it would start as an accident of some sort or perhaps a bet or a set up and then evolve into something more. Maybe a situation where they're forced to work together to insure their own survival or something of that sort, and then they end up appreciating things about each other they never thought they would.

My personal headcanons re: Evan add to the whole potential opposites attract thing, as in my head, Evan is the happy, extroverted, attractive, popular kid from a rich, happy family. And then there's Remus who's quiet and a bit dorky and forced to be a bit secretive even if that wouldn't be his first choice. I can definitely see Remus as a bit awkward as a teenager, with a depressive streak which he suppresses to keep up with James and Sirius, who love him but tend to be oblivious. And I can see Remus being drawn to Evan like a moth to a (very dangerous) flame and Evan seeing something he likes and going after it, Houses and sides of barricades be damned. But, of course, I'd love to see other interpretations of them as well.

I think both of them are too dedicated to their respective causes to ever switch sides which, I suppose, would preclude a happy ending but I think that's the beauty of this ship - it can be so deliciously psychologically messed up and complicated. It's all about war and hate and desire and could-have-beens.

I would love some background/worldbuilding around pureblood/wizarding society and the day-to-day of the First War, as well as the more exciting/dramatic parts of it (missions, stake-outs, battles, etc).
