“If the doors of perception were cleansed, then everything would appear to man as it is - infinite.”  William Blake’s words rang through her mind as Lisa sat in circle, waiting for the High Priestess to anoint her.  It was her first closed ritual, the first time she’d worked with her sisters since being initiated into the Coven of the Golden Goose ( Read more... )

I can totally picture Robert Caryle's voice and face here (though his short stubby legs and arms are not nearly long enough).

I once saw Robert Carlyle from a distance in Covent Garden. He was talking to some friends, but even if he hadn't been, I would never have had the courage to go and talk to him - I get horribly tongue tied around celebrity, especially celebrity as yummy as he is!

Google black eyed children. There's a site devoted to the Shadow People which has a link to allegedly true stories about them and it will scare you like nothing else. Seriously. They give me goosebumps just thinking about them.

I decided long ago that I would *NEVER* try to learn magick.

Why? Because it's a binary equation:

(1) If it doesn't work, I'd be wasting my time.

(2) If it does work, I'd be playing with fire.

QED

Lisa should count herself lucky that she only lost an eye... so far...

Potent stuff. Thanks for sharing.

The trick with magick (ha! See what I did there?) is to train with someone who actually knows what they're doing. They will guide you around the pitfalls until you can spot them for yourself. The problem is that far too many people haven't got your sense and think that it's fine to do whatever they like - and to be honest, I've come to the conclusion that they don't believe it actually works because if they did, they wouldn't do half of the stupid things that people do when dealing with magick.

Lisa certainly got off lightly in this case.

Yikes! But would she have wanted to keep seeing them, really?

There are an awful lot of people out there who think they'd like to see them, but I believe that sometimes it's better to keep your eyes firmly closed.
