spoiler alert
so, wow. my first post in forever - i've been reading a lot of fic and trying to not fail at school.
and now: i saw deathly hallows part one today (this morning) and it was really, really good. and sad, of course, monstrously sad, but that was expected - i've read all the books. but mostly it's just made me want harry/hermione/ron fic. i've never read that before, i don't think. when i started in fandom, i started in the hp fandom as an h/d shipper, maybe five years ago? and then i read hermione/draco, and since then i've branched out even more, but never to h/hr/r. but now i really want it. the way emma & rupert act hermione & ron in the movies makes shipping them actually possible, and that harry & hermione dancing scene was SO ADORABLE. at first it was like - wait, is harry making a move on hermione? but no, then they danced around like idiots and it was possibly the cutest thing i've ever seen. and when harry was trying to leave in the middle of the night, and ron came out and stopped him - they just have the best friendship, it's awesome.
also, the whole deathly hallows animation bit was SO FUCKING COOL, if you'll excuse my language. also also, i loved that scene where they take the locket from umbridge. "you're lying, dolores. one mustn't tell lies." the delivery was perfect, okay. also also also, i really loved the beginning, where they all took polyjuice potion to look like harry, because if you think about it from an acting perspective, daniel radcliffe had to do all of that. he had to put on a dress and a bra and weird suits and act like five other characters and it was just so wonderfully hilarious and he is a wonderful actor, really.
okay, pseudo-criticism time? daniel radcliff looks so much like elijah wood that, along with some other factors, the movie slipped into lord of the rings mode. for example, right in the very beginning, when they're trying to make it to the burrow and voldemort comes to attack harry while they're flying and harry starts to pass out, he looks exactly like frodo when he's trying to fight the pull of the ring. and the fact that there's so much walking, and how the way dumbledore died is exactly like how gandalf falls when he's facing saruman and then the eagle catches him and daniel radcliffe just looks so much like elijah wood it's freaky. ALSO WHY IS EMMA WATSON SO PRETTY ALL THE TIME I HATE HER.
so now i just have to wait seven more months for the resolution one. yay.
