i need a castiel icon...
so, hey. hello there, lj. i haven't posted in a while, but i've been around, lurking and reading and cleaning up my delicious.
anyways, i've been watching loads of tv, and supernatural (!!!) has ended for the season, and i have some thoughts.
okay, first of all, i'm so sad that castiel has to be the villain now. he was definitely my favorite, okay, and now he's the new villain? and i really just want to give him cuddles and then send him to have make-up sex with dean. just, oh, cas. he was trying so hard to make the right choices, and do the right thing, and he helps dean all the time (he always comes when he calls!) and just this once, he wants dean to trust him, and dean doesn't! just, ugh, this show is so involving. basically the entire season sucked (fairies? really?), and then they decided to make some ridiculously enthralling plot decisions in the last three episodes.
now - there's the issue of vessels. specifically, the vessels of angels. you have to stick through this with me - i get that it's a TV show, and there's that whole thing of having human actors, but - come on, you guys, angels don't take their vessels with them to heaven. or, okay, it is canon that angels appear in human form to souls in heaven, but not to other angels. to other angels, they would take their true angelic form. so why, in 6.20, is castiel in heaven wearing jimmy's skin? and why is raphael in a meat suit? and why do raphael's goonies take the form of humans in suits? it's just - discontinuity! it's not like castiel is narrating this story to sam and dean - no, he's talking to god. god can take the true form of angels. also - also - cell phones! is castiel just magically on earth every time that dean calls? where did he get his cell phone? does his cell phone work by merit of angel magic? who takes a cell phone with them to heaven? so many questions, so few answers!
but this season did have one of my favorite quotes ever:
"Freedom is a rope. God wants you to hang yourself with it."
and with that, i say goodbye.
ETA: for some really awesome every!fic, check out entangled_now 's fic at libraryofsol . seriously, for supernatural, they've written sam/dean, dean/castiel, sam/gabriel (which is a pairing i didn't think would be my thing until i read it, so.), and sam/dean/gabriel/castiel, which is surprisingly compelling. they've also written in the sherlock bbc fandom, and merlin bbc, and harry potter, and doctor who and chuck and heroes and seriously, they're an every!fan. (ha, ha, did you see what i did there? did you?) so check them out.
