1. Roger Capps 2. None are covers (well, Shadows could be considered one, but the original is pretty much unknown, so I don't really see it as one). Full title - Let's Stay Together. 3. Correct. Released in 1988. 4. Both Pat and Neil wrote it (see below).
What I'm including now comes from Synchronistic Wanderings, her box set, which came out in 1999.
Promises in the Dark. Pat: I wrote the beginning of this song on a flight to New York. There was a hum in the cabin that inspired the melody. WhenNeil and I got back to LA, I had almost all the lyrics written but I was embarrassed to show them to him because they were so personal. When we got hom, he was writing in the music room in our house in Tarzana. I sheepishly slipped them under the door and took off. When I got back, he had the chorus, bridge, and most of the verse changes finished. It was the beginning of our collaborating based on our own relationship. Definitely a "top 3" favorite for me, sentimental, like a musical scrapbook.
Yeah, so you should proofread that above comment for any spelling errors, haha. I was typing kinda fast, and didn't think to check it before hitting reply.
A good website is benatarfanclub.com. Has band member bios, discography, past tour dates, etc. Not sure if your dad would be interested or not, though.
