I was in lab today, and we started to hear this weird noise, and it took a moment to realize it's the fire alarm.  Now I know why they're always so ear-splitting and obnoxious; it's not so everyone hears it, it's to motivate everyone to actually get out of the building once they do.  Because we didn't really move, and then finally someone said "hey

In my conducting class we were peering out the window at the fire trucks that went to Jordan Hall. Like, we stopped the class to gape out the window for awhile. It was amusing.
