"better" seems to be a bit of a loaded term :) thinking about "better" leads to personal relativity, "he thinks, she thinks, they think"
but you brought up another keyword, "enrich" and I suppose I think that that's a better, less relative item to look at. Maintaining that there are more levels to enrichment then simple material enrichment. ::shrug:: perhaps social, or spiritual enrichment.
Naturally, form follows function though... its hard to imagine someone purchasing a Jaguar, the finest automobile in the world, as enriching ones own environment to enrich others :P
but letting form follow function, enriching yourself, personally, to empower yourself, and empower the environment you live in, and ultimately the people and things around you; if it looks good, feels good, does good things around you.
If you didn't feel good before, feeling good now has to be the start of something better, right?
Intriguing thought....murderblueSeptember 28 2005, 15:44:50 UTC
Very good question, mon ami. In my personal opinion, better is extremely subjective, but I consider the thought and intent to improve to be a "better" quality. If you come to terms with your faults and try to correct them, to me it's much better than sitting back and not doing anything to change your life or improve it. For instance, I started taking martial arts to improve myself and my life and although it may not make me better in the sense of being worth more than another, I think it makes me better in the sense of being more true to myself. I definately think it's the intent that counts, but also the actions taken with that intent. You can wake up saying that to yourself everyday and still not do anything about it although you may fully intend to. I think the action fulfills the sense of being "better" because you sincerely try. Well, talk to you later mon ami! Miss you!
