I want this show to be real! Seriously, it all sounds hilarious and touching and I am beyond delighted by Dame Judi Dench's Lady Eleanor. And book publishing! There are not enough shows about book publishing and all the shenanigans involved in running a publishing company. And God, the line about Travis and Kurt arguing over who gets to tell Mack that "unpaid internship" means he doesn't get paid had me clapping my hands with delight. :D
Thank you! My girlfriend spent last summer interning at a small press in NYC, and this is not what it's like at all. :) I was inspired by the newspaper in Friendly Hostility, which also bears little to no resemblance to the actual newspaper biz.
I'm thinking the obvious ships here are Tanya/Nikki, Travis/Brooke, and Mack/Mr. Fischer--but I'd also bet on some smoking-hot Brooke/Tanya/Nikki fic and a small but dedicated Travis/Mack contingent.
... oh my God how did I not leave a comment, I LOVED this so much. Please tell me Brooke and Travis have the most adorable and spoiled children EVER and Mack somehow tricks Kurt into sleeping with him and alajsf;lskjdafa
Hah, thank you! I think Brooke and Travis have a will-they-or-won't-they arc where they alternate between flirtatious bonding moments and "oh my god how can I go out with HIM/HER" freakouts. Don't worry, they'll get together in the end! Maybe a first season finale kiss and fade-to-black?
The problem with Mack/Mr. Fischer is that Mack's just so good looking he's never had to seduce anybody. They've always come to him. So his strategy with Kurt is along the lines of "maybe if I trip him, he'll fall on me and then we can make out." Kurt just thinks he's clumsy. Only Mack knows he's actually quite graceful. :( Give it a season or two, though, and I bet there'll be some kind of they're-secretly-doing-it reveal!

I love it, probably more than is healthy.
