Well, on the bright side, my laptop's been shipped to me, and I have named him Jimmy (which is a dedication to Jimmy Page!).

Yes, I do love to name inanimate objects.

My recommendation is to bring up how you felt in regards to their actions so that it doesn't make them defensive. Couch it in terms like "this is how it made me feel when..."
