I'm starting to like the differences in this TV version of the Vampire Diaries. It's hinted that after the brothers became vamps Stefan was more like Damon in the killing and feeding sense and they spent time together instead of going their separate ways right away like in the books. I have only seen the first episode so far and never read the books. My sense is that Damon is punishing Stefan. I was thinking that maybe Stefan made Damon into a vampire without his consent. Like maybe he was dying or something. Damon hates him for it? I don't know any of the background or mythology yet. I assume it goes by traditional lore that one is made a vampire. I also think this other woman who this girl looks like will come up. She seems a tragic link between the brothers. And I have so already gone there so you are not alone. Hell, I think we were supposed to go there.

Stefan making Damon a vampire is not how it happened in the book, but who knows with the series. I'm going to tell you what happens in the book because I don't want to spoil you. Unless you request it. ;-)
