i opened up this weeks enewsletter from vegan outreach and saw this:

as i was writing that last entry, i looked over at our foster dog and she had given birth to a puppy. fast forward 4 hours (and about a ton of placenta all over my bathroom), she gave birth to 6 puppies, and 1 deformed still born. weird how things work, right?

today i lost my best friend, my other half, the love of my life. i'm at a complete loss for words. i don't remember ever feeling so lost in my entire life. i lived for cassie, and she fought for me.
i miss you so much, baby girl.

happy birthday, charles darwin!

interesting fact: the day 'the origin of species' (darwin's famous book about evolution and natural selection) was released, the christian church bought over 90% of them and burned them. is that why i get jesus' birthday off, but not darwin's?
