Trip!
New York rawked as usual. XD
We woke up at 4:00 a.m., picked up Sydney and her mom, and got to the airport around 6:00 a.m. on Friday. After arriving at Laguardia, we got a towncar and drove through endless traffic til we got in the city, which was wonderful. Dropped our luggage and went out to the subways.
First stop: Ground Zero. My third time there, still pretty emotional. Then we went to the big ol' department store across the street, Century 21 (no, not the realtor XD; ). I got a very pretty dress for the wededings this summer :D.
Next stop was Canal Street; ah, how I love it. Each of us got a new purse... my mom got a denim Louie Vuitton, Sydney's mom got a Chanel purse w/ a matching wallet, Sydney got a small Coach purse, and I got a pretty black Gucci purse. I was also roped into buying some $30 Gucci sunglasses XD; They're pretty hawt though.
We made a pit stop at a coffee shop on the way back to the hotel (where I had some awesome chocolate cheesecake) and we chilled til the evening. That's when we got to one of the main attractions of the trip: the drag restaurant.
omg so much fun you don't even know. Our "waitress" Rajene, who already got a sex change to a female, called me and Sydney lesbians XDDD; and then she called me a pot smoker and Sydney a dominatrix, haha. We ate and then the show started, where several of the transvestites danced around and repeatedly made obscene gestures at random diners XD
The best part, though, was when they brought the cake slice out for the birthday people (there were other people there celebrating birthdays, too). What they did was make you come into the center of the room, get on your knees while they held the plate of cake at their crotch, and you had to bend down and take a bite XDDD it amused me a lot. Then one of the waitresses made Sydney and I balloon penis hats and we carried them down the street home - people probably thought we were crazy XDDD That was a highlight of the trip though.
Saturday: Woke up and went to a "Seinfeld diner" cause or moms wanted to, haha. Then we went to Central Park, where Sydney bought me a pretty painted picture of Times Square w/ numerous Broadway posters in it, since she said she'd buy me something in New York as my b-day present. I bought a different lil one also, cause it was pretty.
Then, a street artist persuaded Sydney to let him do her drawing, and it turned out really good. Not only that, but this random guy started taking professional pictures of her and some other guy started videotaping it! It turned out that the photographer was from Belgium and thought she was gorgeous, and then wanted to take pics of me too XDDD so he did and said he'd send us each the pictures of e-mail. Now Sydney and I joke that we're gonna be Belgian superstars :D
After that, we ate lunch in a diner and then walked around Times Square <3. Went into the Swatch store for kicks, then into Virgin Mobile where I bought the Broadway cast recording to "See What I Wanna See" w/ a gift card Kelsey gave me for my b-day. I really like it - it has Idina Menzel and Aaron Lohr in it <3333. I'm listening to it now XD;
Then for another brief trip highlight... *drumroll* I dragged everyone to West 41st street to stand outside the Neaderlander theatre and stare at the blinking RENT signs XDDD! I took pics too. Turns out I was 5 days late for the 10 year festivities, that shattered me ;_____; oh well. At least I can say I've seen the theatre now.
We went back to the hotel and chilled til 6 p.m. Time for Tony 'n Tina's Wedding, the off-Broadway show that's a wedding of these two really Italian people, and you attend the wedding and reception with their crazy Italian families, as if you're a guest yourself, which was hilarious and totally fun. Tina's gay brother Joey started rubbing my shirt when I went up to get food and was like "I like your shirt. I have something in this frilly material, but it's underwear, it's a thong." *ded* That was definitely another trip highlight!
After that we got some cheesecake in Times Square, it was delicious. Then we went back to the hotel, got approximately 3 hours of sleep, woke up at 3:00 a.m. and finally arrived home around 12:30 in the afternoon. And that was it! I had a bunch of fun and Sydney did too ^__^. I'm gonna probably put up pictures somewhere too, so be on the lookout!
I have so much make-up work from missing school Friday. Oh well. It was well worth it <3.
