The bookstore on campus was nothing like the one that sat nestled of a little side street in the university town. The Painswick Bookstore was newly build, modern, and well lit. Of course, this was exactly what she needed while the weight of her vapid, shallow world was sitting squarely on her shoulders. Her eyes met that of Adrian Pucey's, the eternal fly in her soup, and she wondered how he'd perfected his perfect timing. Maybe it was a potion, because he was just too good to be natural.

"I am not clinically insane. That would require a healer's diagnoses," She told him, a little more bite in her voice than he probably deserved. Taking a knee, Allie started to scoop up the heavy books, "What are you doing here, anyway? You're not even a student."

"Yes, I read from time to time," not only was it a lie, the phrase even seemed to taste wrong coming off her tongue. The most reading that suited Allie's lifestyle were the captions under gossip magazine photos and tags on clothes.

"I just figured I'd pick up a few books.." she mumbled, holding up a book at random; Years with The Yeti by Gilderoy Lockhart. She scanned the title, but when she caught the title Allie flinched. She nearly threw the book back on the shelf, "Oh Merlin- bad memories. I can't even lie about this one."

Busted. She probably should've checked the covers instead of looking for thinner, less wordy books.
