Breaking laws of college physics

So it's currently 4:05 am, and I'm spending it writing an Arabic paper. Topic's not bad, because I chose it (Ramifications of Joseph Campbell's Hero Cycle in Star Wars), but it's long, and late, and tedious, and for some reason I think it's just inherently wrong to be pulling an all-nighter in July for academic purposes ( Read more... )

bugs, joseph campbell, homework, star wars, arabic, college, archetypes, all-nighter, july

Ah yes... Campbell's Hero's Journey connection to "Star Wars".. we spent many early days of Lit class discussing the similarities.

Btw. HOW'D you like the end of HP7?? I'm dying to discuss it with ppl, but the subject is temporarily taboo with most of my friends, who STILL haven't made it through.

I miss you!

Yes, even though Campbell's an ass, I still like some of his ideas, especially because he's just a really good summary of the early 20th century thought on mythology and pyschoanalysis. And Star Wars is and ever was the Shit. The end end, as in the epilogue of HP sounded like a 15 year old writing fanfic on her period, but the rest of it was one the whole satisfactory and I think I can honestly say it ended the best way it could have. That being said, it's still the end and I'm going to need therapy.

I miss you too, I hope you can come visit Boston next year, I'd love to see you :)
