YESTERDAY I drove to Denver to visit Annie and then walk from her adorable downtown apartment to the art museum. (I refuse to go back until they finish the new wing & have more contemporary/modern art.) Then I met up with AIGA people. Costumes=optional. So I went as a dingbat. Wings and a bell. Friday for work I dressed up as a janitor/maintenance person. Although it may be a little late for shopping, see if you can hit a thrift store and find a once piece "uniform"- one of those brown one piecers, make your face a little dirty, put on a backwards cap and a name tag of sorts...maybe "Bernie" or "Art" and you have yourself a costume!

I know it is probably too late, but I dressed up as Ragedy Ann. I think I was pretty darn cute with my red yarn pigtails and all. Anyways, people at work loved it as well as the Phi Delta Chi Halloween party I went to last night!

thanks for the ideas, girls!

I was Ragedy Ann one year! my mom has these old red heels & the whole costume. That would have been fun this year, too! I couldn't find our costume box in the basement though-so I just grabbed a lifevest and went as a canoe/rafting guide. I got too hot though, so after taking off the vest I was left with a funny wide brimmed hat and a whistle. Fun day though.

The maintenance/janitor idea would have been great, too! One of my coworkers actually came to work as a grease monkey-t-shirt and jeans, greasy, messy hair, and tools in her back pocket. It was cute.
