I'd recommend the red hair more than the Scarsdale diet. I understand the desire to not only lose weight but lose it fast - *believe* me, I do - but those "lost x pounds in just 1 week, 2 weeks" diets? Yeah, you lose the weight. Then as soon as you go off the diet and start eating normally, its back. Also, as you mentioned, it didn't sound like the heathiest diet. Honestly, the best way to go is just to cut calories and get good exercise. Increase your veggies, decrease grains and meats, and you will lose weight. I lose almost 20 lbs in a month that way. A month isn't too long. :)

heh, sorry for the diet rant... you just asked for comments on the hair idea

If you go red, you need to upload photos! I died my hair "auburn" once - I put it in quotation marks because since I have dark brown hair and I didn't bleach it, my hair was basically brown with a reddish tint in certain lighting. Red hair is so pretty!

If your credit is good and you could aford a monthly payment, look into getting a bank loan and get lasix surgery. There should be a good eye center around that will give a free consult to see if you're a canidate for it. It is SO worth it.

I speak from experience (hee!) - go red. Get some streaks first to see how you like it, and if you do (and I think you will, you have the attitude to pull off red) either get your entire head done the same color red, or maybe have the streaks one type of red and your other hair a different type. Thats what I did my first go around, then a year or two later I had crayon red streaks put in with my natural hair color.

It takes a certain type of personality to be a red head. You should go for it, see if you like it. And if you do - POST PICS!

No to the scarsdale diet. Just eat more fresh veggies and fruit. Watch your carbs. Cut out the soda (and I know you like your soda), drink more water. You'll drop 10 lbs in water weight in the first couple of weeks just by drinking more water. (10 lbs is an estimate based on what I usually drop ( ... )

I've always heard when losing or gaining weight that 2 lbs. a week is the optimum amount and still remain healthy. In an extreme circumstance i gained 6 lbs. in a week off some crazy protein supplements and vitamins, and it messed with my body noticeably. The only way I've found to lose weight and keep it off is exercise, and preferrably in a group. I won't stick to it by myself, so I find things like dance pieces in shows and classes help to take the weight off and keep it off. i've been thinking about group fitness courses at the school gym, i'll tell you if it works at all for me, might work for you too.
