So McCain definitely still retains my vote from a national security and foreign relations standpoint.

On the economy, however, Obama made a strong showing tonight in the debate, and in his planning in general.

I now join the ranks of the great undecided swing voter.

I will agree that McCain does have a better background with foreign relations, and National security as well, but after that he lacks greatly in other important departments like the economic issues (which he has been basically ignoring for the past week) and his health care reform. I read an interesting article in Newsweek detailing his health care plan, and what angers me is that the families will have to pay up front AND THEN get reimbursed later on. A lot of people can't afford that, some families do not just have thousands of dollars hidden in a stove somewhere, especially not right now ( ... )

I don't think McCain's health care tax-break system is going to work. A $5000 credit in place of the $300 a month people pay now plus the thousands employers add in would be way more than $5000 for a typical nuclear family. Losing the credit from employers to make insurance a free-market would lead to a undercoverage disaster, I am afraid ( ... )

I think the whole Palin almost being president thing is far scarier than anything I could imagine. I see your points about Obama's healthcare system, and it definitely has its own flaws. The fact that my parents pay $800 a month for insurance (and the district pays $300), shows that McCain's $5000 credit is ridiculous. And our insurance isn't even all that supped up. In fact, our copays keep going up (i know this is the case in all insurances right now), and they are trying to make me pay for my ER visit from last year because I can't prove that it was an accident, since I didn't file a report with the company. Go figure, I dropped the ladder on my head on accident because I like spending an entire night in an ER.
sorry. i went off. didn't mean to ramble, haha.
