I always think of them mostly as BFF. Tomoyo would have so much fun teasing Kurogane, bossing him around without he realized it and swatting him on the head with a rolled newspaper when he misbehave. (and he totally knees before her so she can reach)

MY PERSONAL HEAD-CANON IS THAT KURO IS A CROSS BETWEEN A DOG AND A MODEL FOR HER, WHO NEED SEX ANYWAY WHEN YOU ALREADY OWN THE GUY AND HE CAN BRING THE SLENDER BLONDE DUDE TO JOIN THE MODEL-FUN.

I get that, really, but well. In canon, Kurogane and Fay never did it for me? RPG-wise, I HAVE shipped it since I've played with insanely talented Kuros and Fays, but in canon I just don't like them. By the end of Tsubasa I can KIIIIIND of see it, but I'm still not crazy 'bout em.

And Kurogane and Tomoyo in TRC represent SO SO SO MANY of the things I like in fictional ships, so I do ship them way way WAY more than I ever did Kuro/Fay.
