XD This is kind of a random comment -- I was curious and checking the Friends of Friends page on LJ -- but there is a way you can have a plus account and not have to see the ads.

Here is a list of things you can do to hide/remove the adds. Most of them are CSS based options. I use a combination of the Greasemoney/Stylish option. XD

One of the main reasons why I switched to a plus account was for the icons, too. However, it's also because I like to have my comment pages in the same style of my layout because I'm not too fond of the default blue and white theme. The ads are annoying, though.

I'd love to have my comment pages like my layout too, though I don't have much problem with the basic's default theme. I can't see ads because of Firefox's adblock, but knowing it's there and others can still see them kinda bothers me -__-; I'll be trying out the CSS codes someday, when I figure them out.
