I have been so intrigued with your Georgette Heyer read- she was my first 'glommed' author. I bought all her books from charity shops (back in the day when I was a teenager) having found 'Fridays Child' in my school library at about the age of 10. I then replaced them all with brand new versions (yes, I have two copies of most of her books!)
Fridays Child is still my favourite book- it has wit, Kitten, Sherry, just the entire ensemble- it's the perfect book for me.
I never managed to read her mysteries- she's not quite Agatha Christie! But her regency novels are true Genre defining morsels of perfection.
Could I recommend the biography of Georgette Heyer, written by Jane Aiken Hodge?.........it has a wonderful insight into her writing process.
