oh my gossssh! that is exactly how i feel; about cats and babies. and, ok, ok. i am not saying all people who have kids are like that but i seriously know way too many who are. i used to work with a girl who said she couldn't wait to have kids because she thought it would be neat to see a smaller version of herself in the world. i guess, to her, the whole "being responsible for another human life.... pretty much forever" is totally doable when it means having your very own half mini-me (the same girl oddly enough had 4 cats, each of which she left behind at her old house when she moved recently!! i wish this was a lie but it's not!!) sometimes i feel bad because i'm too much a realist and when my totally unprepared friend suddenly springs up with a bun in the oven, i feel more sorry for them than excited because they clearly have this idea that babies are pure rainbows and butterflies and parenthood is like a non-stop happy dream of love. and seriously, i would've finished this rant with a "ha-ha" except for the fact that it's more ( ... )

amen. i think having a kid is the most selfish thing that people do. and then ironically they have to spend the rest of their life dedicated to someone else. LIVING is scary. and i refuse to ever have a kid without acknowledging what kind of world i am bringing a human being with emotions and a soul into.
DEEP/LAME.

get a miniature kitten they are adorable/always tiny/and don't live that long. you'd end up loving the cat even if it did live for ages...the litter box is worth hating though

haha, it's like getting a kid with a disability. "they dont live that long"
...i'll take it.
i'll probably go get one from the pound in greenville. that way even if i do throw it in a ditch, at least i saved it for a little while.
