sad news

i just got word that one of my favorite residents ever, mr. mattingly, passed away two weeks ago. he leased from me in april and was as spry and alert than someone 1/2 his age. he was 98 when he leased his apt and he had to break his lease about six weeks ago due to his health. his daughter called us a bit ago to give us the news ( Read more... )

yeah. it put a huge damper on our whole day. his daughter (marylou) said that once his "lady friend" (she was a dear) had to be put in a nursing home that he went straight downhill.

i guess love and companionship does make you live longer.

that's what i've always heard...the love and companionship thing. poor fella. it's sad that his lady friend had to be put in a nursing home.

those boys play a tough game when we're trying to catch 'em...but once we do, we get 'em for life, huh? :)

So sad...but what an obviously fulfillled life he led. I hope we're all half that lucky.

yeah, he was amazing. he always came in to say hi to "his girls" (me and sandy) and had something nice to say about everything.
