Below could very easily have been a decent little horror movie. Trapped in an enclosed space, deep underwater no less, could have added some real-life phobia to any supernatural elements they wanted to throw in. But the movie, in trying to allow for multiple interpretations, sort of undermines itself on that front, so that

I'm generally a little sceptical when people say they aren't a fan of horror movies - because I used to say that

Maybe I'll change my tune eventually too. All I know is that right now, I don't particularly enjoy being scared, so I avoid obvious horror movies whenever possible.

I honestly don't know what I classify as horror and what I classify as a thriller at this point, especially when the threat doesn't have a supernatural element to it. I think you're right that the distinction is getting blurred, for better or for worse.
