That was a weird transitional time for you. It's not terribly surprising that your muse would go quiet for a little bit. You had to take time to process everything. Now that you've had time to heal, you'll probably see lots of things that you thought you lost start showing back up in your life.
When I was going through my hard times, I lost touch with music... which was an integral part of my life, pretty much always. It was an outlet for me, a comfort to me, and just a good friend in a lot of ways (and maybe your painting was like that for you?) But the unhappier I was, the more I lost touch with it. Now it's finding its way back into my life. Right now it's listening pleasure, but I really want to pick up an instrument again someday. Maybe once I get past nursing school I'll get there. :)
I'm happy that you have found your groove again, can't wait to see some of your work! You've come a long way, been through a lot, so I am sure there's lots of stuff to paint!
