... that about sums up the last 2 days, lol. it's VERY WET here. but I'm safe! I don't know the real number but somewhere around 18,000 people (I think, the numbers kept changing) lost power. the lights flickered here a few times but we didn't lose power, although we did lose internet for quite awhile.
yup, there was no major damage for us, thankfully. at the Orange Park office a tree has fallen down into the parking lot, and I drove down one road today where one of the trees was like, split in half. they've already removed about 900 fallen trees, wow. and there is still water EVERYWHERE. there is nowhere dry here at the moment.
... but I should clarify, we didn't actually get hit by Hurricane Fay. she just got close enough to give us lots and lots (AND LOTS) of rain and really bad winds.
it rained again today! it will never stop raining! ... right now, it's hurricane season for us, so until November we're on the lookout for more hurricanes. no, really, Florida is lovely! come visit! ... but maybe wait until we get all the branches cleared up, lol.
Oh my, we heard the news even here, and I was kinda amused too... but still, I hope you won't have trouble with him!
And you see... the italian word for "hurricane" is "uragano", so a friend of mine said: "Ahah, to stop this Fay we need a KURAGANO!"... I never laughed this much in a while! XDDD
ah ha ha, all hurricanes have *girls* names! ... which is one of the reasons I disagree with the official romanization: Fay makes me think of a girl, and Fay makes me think of the wrong pronunciation. Fai is correct! *is decided*
ooo, fic ideas? maybe something like Kuro's element is water and Fai's element is air, and water + air/wind = hurricane? that'd be an interesting fic! ;D
that would be an *awesome* fic! ... like, possibly, Kuro and Fai combine their elemental magics to form a hurricane and defeat the enemy? AWESOME!
I have not seen/read One Piece, but I've thought about it, cuz hey, PIRATES! but the like, 500 episodes is just a little daunting a task, lol, as is the about 50 volumes of manga. so One Piece has elemental magic? I will add that to the list of reasons to watch it ...
