Jack’s favorite day of the week is Sunday; most kids’ favorite days are Saturday or Friday, but Jack loves Sunday. Spencer is always home on Sunday, and it’s his special day with Jack, even when Daddy can’t come along because he’s on a case. Spencer doesn’t works with Daddy catching bad guys. He says it’s because he didn’t want to anymore, but Jack knows that’s not the whole story; he knows that it’s partly because of him and partly because Spencer got really hurt and walks funny now.
Spencer likes to go to the museums and Jack likes to go to sporting events and Daddy, well Daddy, likes anything his boys like. When Daddy comes, Daddy and Spencer hold hands and sometimes Daddy kisses Spencer. Secretly, Jack likes that they love each other, but he always makes faces and says, “Ewww,” when he catches them. He loves it when Spencer tells him all about everything; he knows all about dinosaurs, cars, baseball, football, and history. It’s kind of cool, at school his teacher talks about using an encyclopedia, but he has a talking one and its name is Spencer.
Yeah, he doesn’t get to see his parents as much as all the other kids do, but his parents make special plans with him. None of his friends get to have special days very often and he gets them every Sunday; he knows he’s super lucky to have a Spencer and a Daddy.
