so on friday i went to this thing and saw charles [your favorite surname substitution here] and will sheff play "ex-girl collection" together, with will on vocals. oh, my, and goddamn. later in the evening i saw love is all at the same venue, and that was somewhat surprisingly fantastic also. but honestly, after that one song, i have to wonder

i give this some thought every few months when i see a band that blows me away and whose songs sound so incredible live that the album just doesn't sound the same anymore afterward. and then i remember that something else really good is just going to come along in a few months again.
