So, I just got back my first grade from law school. It's a memo, which is basically a legal analysis of a potential case

Congratulations! "You will get away with a lot because of the natural eloquence of your writing" ... heh, awesome. Cool that this prof can call you out on that when most just bump you up a letter grade for not sounding as awkward as the rest of the class. It IS possible to be a good writer with bad ideas... but it sounds like you have good ideas. Rock on. :D

Haha, yeah. My professor is really chill. She comes into class, turns the lights off, leans back in her chair, and says, "So what's up?"
