While, as we have discussed, I don't really understand your burning desire to make pants that fit absolutely perfectly (close enough is usually enough for me)I think it's great that you are actively pursuing your interests and hobbies. I think some people of "retirement age" just sort of slow down to lives of puttering and watching TV and being overly meddlesome in their adult children's lives, but you are traveling and pursuing learning new things. I hope I am doing the same when I am your age.
