I have a problem. My problem is you. This journal currently contains 310 entries, 310 of which are public, and can be read and commented on by anybody, including anonymously. This was fine whilst everybody was either a friend of mine, or a complete stranger; friends only knew other friends, and strangers didn't know anybody. This past year though, ( Read more... )

Unfortunately, that won't help; some unwanted contact goes on outside of LiveJournal.

You could always make it public when public interest dwindles... Like after several months/years when nobody cares any more.

The only problem with your idea is that if someone is sick enough to try to cause problems by posting anonymous posts, then they'll most likely be sick enough to try to do the same thing even after months and years.

From own experience (see latest anonymous fellow), you can have no or limited contact with someone for years and they'll just pop up if it's convenient for them.

Also, this would defeat the point of having a public LJ in the first place; personally, I'd find it a drag to remember how many months have past since a certain event took place and evaluate if it's safe to make that certain entry public.
