i'd really like the first one done w/ the customization...but if it doesnt work/look right, the same stuff can be applied to any picture. or if you're feeling really ambitious/loving/bored..you can try all 4 and i'll pick what I like..
and don't worry I always credit the artists
all the pictures may have to be resized to fit..
the text/entry box to be on the right (text can be a shade of green and the box color can be black)
across the top, if its possible, to place the menu bar (user info link, etc)
could the links for the menu bar be:

Personal Journal: I'd leave ninety-nine
calender/archive: leave them all behind
Friends: to find You
as for colors--do what is best..you're the artist
