Character Information
Name: Ezio Auditore da Firenze
Fandom: Assassin's Creed
Timeline Summary: When he is returning to Italy with Sofia, post-game.
Background:
Requiescat en pace.Personality: On the surface, Ezio is a flirtatious and charismatic man with a confidence in him that allows him to work himself out of and into a lot of situations, as well as turning conversations in his favour. He is quiet, due to emotional hardships, but friendly enough that he makes lifelong friends with relative ease.
After the death of his father and brothers at the hands of a family friend who betrayed them, Ezio took their deaths as a personal wound, intent on protecting his mother and sister with all of his strength, even as his sister grew old enough to care for herself alone and his mother died of old age.
Declaring himself an athiest, Ezio doesn't pretend to know the way the world works, just that he's part of it and will make as many changes for the better as he can, intent on bringing down as many Templars as possible. Headstrong and an insatiable flirt when it comes to the opposite sex, and sometimes his own sex if it can convince others to do as told (note, his conversation with Salai to convince him to leave the tavern with him), Ezio is compassionate and loyal to those he trusts, never wishing ill upon anyone that doesn't justly deserve it, distraught when he does, in fact, kill an innocent man.
Despite being called many grand things, such as The Prophet, and being named Grand Master, Il Mentore, of the Assassins, Ezio sees himself simply as a man. He doesn't wish to be followed blindly, he believes all people should do as they see fit, so long as it is right and ethical. This belief alone makes him a hypocrite, considering many of his own accomplishments were achieved by murdering those that stood in his way, even despite them being evil people. Even so, this is the Creed he follows. "Nothing is true, everything is permitted." He is aware that this means everything changes and nothing stays true, while everything is permitted but one must use their conscience to know what is right.
Caring and warm, Ezio falls in love with difficulty and takes great hits when his affections are not returned, as noted when Catarina Sforza makes it clear their relationship was for politics. Harbouring deep love for her, even after the fact, he eventually resigned himself to lonliness (aside from random sexual encounters) once he was certain he could not simply persuade the object of his affections into reciprocating his feelings. When he meets Sofia, that fast changes and he becomes quickly infatuated with her, caring deeply for her safety and coming to love her deeply, after a lot of flirting.
Motivated to find truth and the answers to the many questions he had acquired over the years, Ezio sought his personal truths and his place in the universe, learning just what a small part he played, how he was a two-way conduit for a message to be passed to Desmond, and experiencing how he, Desmond, and Altair all fit into each other's lives, and hearts, some how. They are brothers in arms over centuries and he greatly desires to know more about both, even as he knows he will not be allowed that chance.
With little time to himself, Ezio often works himself into exhaustion and even fights with severe wounds. With a crude sense of humour the entire time, likely learned from his older brother, Federico, and nurtured by his time with the vulgarly-spoken Catarina and the awful sense of humour of his closest friend, Leonardo Da Vinci.
He does not, however, wish to fight any longer. Ezio desires only one thing: to live with Sofia, marry her, and build a family with her. He might be old but he's not dead yet and he wants to take the chance given to him and simply love.
Powers, Skills, and Abilities: Ezio is a master assassin with knowledge in all kinds of techniques to kill. Alongside that, he is able to create bombs of varying strengths and is highly skilled in the use of many weapons, sword play and bare handed combat. He is extremely fast when he runs and is a master at free-running and climbing. The only power, as such, that he has is his
Eagle Sense, a mastered form of
Eagle Vision that evolved into a new sense.

First Person: [Voice]
[In the thickest Italian accent, Ezio speaks, slowly and curiously.] Such a strange contraption. What does it do, I wonder. Un vero peccato Yusuf or Leonardo are not here to take it apart and find out.
[He presses at it, causing it to beep a few times and a curious sound comes from him.] A communications device?
I can be heard? Ciao? Is anyone able to hear this? [A long pause.] Questo è ridicolo. Uh... if anyone can hear me, please tell me if you have seen a woman named Sofia. She has flaming red hair and a penchant for wearing green. Grazie.
Third Person: The moment he knew she was here was all he needed to make Ezio run to the hospital. Sofia was here and she needed to be safe and so he had ran, he had met with her, held her close, and as she tired late into the evening he had lay with her until she slept. She was his beloved, his dearest, and he was somehow strangely relieved they had been brought to this world together. In this world, there were no Templars still hunting him, there were no Pieces of Eden, no secrets to unfold. There was no Desmond, no Altair, not even a single thing to claim as a memory here. It was a liberation. Freedom for he and his dearest Sofia, despite how he worried greatly for his sister, Claudia. She would be safe, he knew, but he was her older brother and they had been all each other had until he had found Sofia.
Seated at the window, Ezio watched many young people come and go, enjoying their evening and partaking of the things the city had to offer. It was nice to see them enjoying their lives and not worrying about anything that could harm them. This world was not perfect but it was not riddled with Templars, and though it had it's secrets and lies, they were not things Ezio was forced to expose. They were not his work to deal with.
Even so, he somehow felt responsible for the situation anyway. He wanted to know. He wanted to unearth the secrets buried beneath this world and find them their way how, for everyone. Then it could be their choice to live here or return home, and everyone could find comfort where they were happiest.
Hearing Sofia stir in her sleep, Ezio rose from his seat, approaching the bed where she lay. A sigh came as he brushed a strand of red hair from her face, curling it behind her ear. She was many years younger than he and something about that made him smile, given her vast intelligence and the wisdow she held at such an age. She was wiser than he, often, and he leaned in to kiss her temple, smiling more as that settled her into sleeping more peacefully.
Ezio didn't want to fight anymore, he wanted to be with her, build a life with her, have what he'd put off for a very long time, and still... if the need arose, he would fight to protect her because, above all, she was all he had now and all he could ever want.
