I met Barry Harris in Pensicola two Memorial Day's ago and danced with him at the Beach Ball. Twas a circuity type affair. In mid-cha-cha, I leaned over to him and said, "Move To Move was a very influential album for my in my formative gay years." He was stunned and with a big smile, he said, "I never thought I would hear something like that at an event like this."
Guess he expects to be known as half of Thunderpuss or solo DJ stuff and not Kon Kan.
hehe...this morning ...driving my kids to school....we listened to an 80's compilation CD I have...They keep making me play Howard Jones over and over...after his song is Kon Kan..THEN I put in a new album I got...called Future Retro...all 80's songs remixed by current DJ's....they are starting to tolerate it...it starts with the Cure, but has Yaz, Erasure, Inxs, Devo, Morrisey, Depeche Mode, Echo and the Bunnymen and New Order...it's great fun...
When I'm in a country mood, I still love Julie Roberts..the album is just whiny and all things country enough
thanks for sharing this...being a music geek, i find things like this fascinating...and i can very much relate to your progression through music and life...listed a lot of things that i love...and i agree about the country music...same here...
