This afternoon, I bought rhubarb. I've never bought rhubarb before, and it just felt wrong. We had two big plants in the back yard when I was a kid, so if I wanted some, I just went out and got some. Hmmm... I'm not so sure about raw but cooked rhubarb is definitely a sign of Spring around here.

I have the same thing going on with Swiss chard and Gravenstein apples. There's something very wrong about not picking Gravensteins exclusively off my auntie's tree, and not foraging for chard in the vacant lot that used to be a farm.

But I love both so much that I've gotten acclimated to buying them.
