And I'm glad to know my patriotism is too.  Because I really thought I'd lost it. My opinion of America has spiraled continually downward in the past year.  I don't like our government.  I don't like what we're doing.  I don't like what we've become.  But last night I went to go see the Pops Goes the Fourth dress rehursal concert at the Esplinade

We should all be proud to be part of America. It's a really, really great idea. We shouldn't equate President Bush and all of his men with America itself, because he's just one, if you will, flaw, in the grander scheme of our nation. These times of volatility will pass, but at the end of the day, we'll still be left with our independence, our Bill of Rights, our Constitution, our democracy. And for these things, every American citizen should be proud. Happy 4th of July to you too. :-)
