In Character Information

character name: Nathan Drake (please, call him Nate)
Fandom: Uncharted series
Timeline: End of Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
character's age: early 30s (canon disputes his age, though the creator of the character said he's in his mid 30s in the most recent game)

powers, skills, pets and equipment:
Nathan's a skilled shooter and knows how to use a wide variety of guns, including automatics, semiautomatics, pistols and shotguns. Though he can arm himself with different weapons by swapping them around in game, he always has up to 5 grenades on him and some form of a small pistol. I'll be taking him with the 5 grenades and a 9MM gun. He also knows hand to hand combat. His blows and combos are strong enough to kill a man, hence being called brutal combos in game. He also knows how to climb pretty well since he ventures around a lot in ruins and tunnels. Nate can swim too.

For his added abilities, he'll have an enhanced sense of sight (meaning he'll be able to see things more clearly and from a distance without any problem) and enhanced sharpshooting abilities.

personality:
Nathan, oh what to say about Nathan Drake? For starters, as a treasure hunter, he lives for the adventure. He loves adventuring and loves exploring. A life without some adventure would be a dull life for him. That being said, his love of treasures is directly related to his love and want of money. He'll do whatever it takes to get a treasure he's looking for and not much can stop him. But, it's important to know that he'll know when something is and isn't worth going after. He'll back out if he sees that the current situation is way too dangerous, if he's in over his head. At one point he tells Elena (the host of a show who comes along for the ride) that he doesn't want her bullet-riddled corpse on his conscience and they should leave the island they're currently on.

Nate is honest and he'll tell it like it is, but he's still got some sense of tact. He can get pretty sarcastic sometimes, especially when he's ticked off. In more dangerous, heavier situations, he begins to joke around to ease the tension. Nate's jokes can often be backhanded insults, depending on who he's talking to. If necessary, he'll provoke people into doing what he wants them to do through his jokes and insults. Overall, Nate's a pretty relaxed guy, unless the situation calls for him to be serious, as mentioned before with Elena.

If Nate doesn't like someone, he's not going to pretend to like them. He'll call them out if they're doing or saying something that he doesn't agree with. He really isn't afraid of what people will say to him or if anyone likes him. He's got better things to worry about that that. He's also very expressive about what he's feeling at the moment. He reacts pretty much how you'd expect a regular person to react.

He's very passionate about his treasures and the history involved with them. He loves discovering new things and figuring out the story behind them. If they have something bigger and better involved, that's just the way Nate likes his treasures. Nate will follow any and every clue possible if it means getting closer to the treasure.

Curiosity and observance are also part of his nature. These traits have both gotten him into a whole world of trouble as well as progressing towards what he wants. Sometimes he'll go poking around in the wrong places, which leads me to the fact that he's not really afraid to get his hands dirty, literally and figuratively. Nate's also very clever and probably smarter that most peg him to be. His curiosity and observance certainly help when it comes to trying to figure out obscure puzzles and codes.

why do you feel this character would be appropriate to the setting?
Uncharted is an adventure game with elements of survival. Throughout the game Nate uses his environment to climb to dangerous heights and explore new territory. Since there are a lot of ruins in game (in fact, I'd say that 98% of the game takes place among ruins), I feel that Nate would be completely at home in a setting like this one. The survival elements in game are basically all of the shootouts he has to survive before advancing forward to find the treasure he's looking for.

(In case the second link doesn't get filled up, here's a sample for this game)

So, this place. Pretty creepy. Not that I haven't been to creepier places, but you know, this could get interesting. You can always find weird things in creepy places.

I'm wondering if there's a place that sells bullets for a 9MM gun? I'm kind of running low and I wouldn't want to be caught dead without ammo. Especially out in the ruins.

Third Person Sample:
Ruins.

Ruins in water.

... Could be worse. It could aways be worse. It's not like Nate hasn't been in this kind of thing before. He'll manage.

Nate looks up, shielding his eyes from the little sun that peeks through the clouds. It's always that bit of sun that's the worse, isn't it? Looks like an old church of some kind... or some place of worship, at least. Monastery? Definitely a possibility. Must've been a monastery, why would a church be so near a river?

Fancy monastery too.

He starts wading through the water, carefully stepping to make sure his foot doesn't get caught in a pit of muck. That would be bad. Nate continues forward. The water starts to rise to his knees steadily as he goes further and further into the ruins. Which is when he feels something swimming about his legs. He looks down cautiously. Whatever that thing is, it starts to snap and flail.

"OH CRAP, CRAP, CRAP, CRAP, CRAP!" He starts running towards the nearest elevated level, hoping, praying, oh by God, please let there be some place to climb up! Nate scrambles up a ledge, jumping up and up onto what he assumes is the second floor of this place. With his 9MM, he starts shooting at whatever the hell that thing is. "Oh, no you don't! Not today!"

He shakes himself off a little bit since he's soaking wet. The 9MM goes back into the holster now. "Sheesh, what's with this place anyway?" He walks towards the center, then crouches low on his haunches. Nate runs a finger over the tile: wet dust and dirt. Not surprising. He cocks his head a bit at the cracks. "Now where do you lead to, I wonder..." He starts to follow the cracks.

"Well then, this is interesting." The cracks had stemmed from a huge break in the floor of the ruins. What's left now is a hole and some upturned, crooked parts of the floor. Now what could have caused that? Of course Nate had to go and find out. Seeing the floor has a few pieces jutting out for handhold, Nate starts to climb down from the second floor.

Here's to hoping he finds something.

Anything else? Can people go to the ruins and come back to the city? It's important for a certain explorer/treasure hunter to know this.
