What I really like about this fic is that House is House with a past that comes back to haunt him, and an artlessness in dealing with that past in the context of his relationship.
Cuddy is understandably angry when that past meets her face-to-face, but she doesn't become the s7 ooc bitch, but the restrained girlfriend who is fighting to stay calm and stop talking before she says something that she may regret.
It was a nice touch that House avoided returning to his apartment for fear of seeking out his vicodin stash. In his twisted Housian way, he still had hope that Cuddy would take him back and so wanted to stay clean.
It was so clever how Cuddy came to realize how she and House processed things differently. This was the key to her decision that she wanted to try again.
Loved the cameo from Wilson!
(I knew Cuddy would say they were on a break...shades of Ross on Friends, ha!)
